NDLEA Arrests South African-based Nigerian With Drugs
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos have arrested a South African-based Nigerian, Ayoola Adebayo, with 3.920kg of substances found to be methamphetamine.
A statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, on Friday stated that the drug was concealed in false bottom of the two bags the suspect wanted to check-in at the departure hall of the airport.
It added that the arrest took place during the outward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian airline flight to South Africa.
NDLEA commander at the airport, Mr. Ahmadu Garba, said the case was being investigated.

presidency refuse to comment about Dieziani's case
The presidency has refused to comment on the arrest of former petroleum
minister Dieziani Alison-Madueke. Spokespersons to President Buhari on
Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and Shehu Garba have refused to
comment on whether Dieziani was arrest on request by the Nigerian govt.

80 Boko Haram insurgents surrender to soldiers
Surrendered Boko Haram
The
Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said on
Thursday that 80 members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, had
surrendered to the troops of the Nigerian Army in Borno State.
Those who surrendered, the Army spokesman said, included Boko Haram commanders, foot soldiers and suppliers of logistics.

Ministerial list: Senate sets criteria for screening Wed. • It’s no longer business as usual –Saraki
Senate President, Bukola Saraki
The Senate will on Wednesday decide
the procedure for screening ministerial nominees submitted to it by
President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, who said
this in an exclusive interview with one of our correspondents on
Thursday in Abuja, assured Nigerians that the screening of ministerial
nominees would not be delayed by the upper legislative chamber.
Ndume said that the screening by the Senate would be thorough just as the nomination process adopted by the Presidency was.

in London by the United Kingdom National Crime Agency.
Investigations
revealed that the UK Police picked up Alison-Madueke on Friday in
connection with offences bordering on fraud and bribery.
